Cleaning a dirty aquarium Quick and Easy
To put fresh water in the tank you need about 30 minutes of work each week depending on the size tank.
The things you will need are: a five gallon bucket that has never had chemicals or soap inside. A hose or a cleaner gravel, and also a bag of synthetic sea salt.
The work is divided into two parts and the tank must be cleaned every week on the same day and the filters to be cleaned every 2 or 3 weeks.
The most important thing before starting to clean the tank is to unplug the heater tank. The equipment must not be removed from the tank while it is hot and should be unplugged for about 20 minutes before removing.
The water cools the glass of the stove and if you delete it break. When you put your hand into the water to be sure that the heater is not only outside but also offline. If there is a small crack in the heater which can be fatal for you.
If the heater is off safely be uninstalled from the tank or can be submerged at the bottom of the tank.
Take away all the decoration of the tank so that all you have to be the small gravel. This will help you get rid of dirt that the decorations may have gathered.
Now you can take with you the cleaner gravel. You have to remove the gravel to remove the dirt that has accumulated between the water and begin to remove water from the bucket with a hose.
You should not throw the water, because they still will need to clean the filters.
If you have gravel cleaner, place a plastic tube in the sand while playing the bottom of the tank. After starting siphon into the bucket and every one or two seconds, move the gravel filter to an inch and repeat until you have removed the 15 percent of the fresh water tank and have all the gravel.
At this point you can clean the filters of the aquarium. The inside of the filters used for bacteria growing and this will help you get rid of the nitrites that are uneaten food and fish waste.
In order not to kill the friendly bacteria in the aquarium, clean the filter material and sponges in the dirty water.
Take away everything from the filters and clean them in the bucket of dirty water from the aquarium, squeeze the sponge several Sometimes, reassemble the filters and put them back into the tank.
Before adding water, sea salt should be added to the tank. All water has some slats in it and In order to reproduce the natural habitat of fish, salt should not be there. The dose is one cup of salt for about 50 gallons of water.
You can also add water tank but make sure the water temperature is about one or two degrees to the tank.
If there is a change in temperature of the tank, the fish can kill or weaken your immune system and can catch a disease.
It is better to fill the tank with warm water and check regularly until it reaches the temperature tank. Then add water to the tank, start the filters and heaters.
Filters should be cleaned once or twice a month, but the water in the tank should be cleaned on the same day each week.
